Picket Fence

"Picket Fence" 14"x 21" Watercolor on 140lb. D Arches paper
I'm from Little Rock, Arkansas. While visiting with a friend, Lenard Cockman
who is an art director and musician in Little Rock, I came upon this scene which is located across the street from his office. This painting was accepted into the American Watercolor Society's 2007 competition.

Allen's Place

"Allen's Place" 9"x 12" Watercolor on Raymar cotton canvas panel
Allen's place is one of the oldest in Fairview. The family came in covered wagons
eight generations ago. This old tree stands in what was their front yard.

Winter Home

"Winter Home" 9"x 12" Watercolor on Raymar cotton canvas panel
This was one of our larger snow falls in a while. So, when the sun came out the
next day - out I went to paint!

Covered Bridge

"Covered Bridge" 11"x 14" Oil on Raymar panel
A light snow had fallen in the night and was gone by noon.

to the setting.

Deacon's Cabin

"Deacon's Cabin" 9"x 12" Oil on canvas board plein air
One morning during a painting trip to Colorado, we drove up above Creed and came upon this view. It turned out to be one of the better paintings from the trip. The wind was blowing about 60 mph so it was all I could do to hold my easel on the ground.

Headwaters

"Headwaters" 9"x 12" Oil Plein air on canvas board
My first painting trip was a great - six of us rented a van and drove non-stop to Creed. We call ourselves "The Van Goes" which is also the name of our blog. This painting is of the Rio Grande near Creed, Colorado.

Tractor

"Tractor" 14"x 21" Watercolor on 140lb. D Arches paper
The tractor was parked just down the road from our house. Every time
I would drive by it would catch my eye so I decided to paint it.
